I just recently put my computer together and i whiched from NVIDIA to ATI and i installed the graphic card correctly and the drivers too. Here is my problem. every time i run a game it freeze on me. what could the problem be? i have the lastest catalyst drivers.

you got good cooling in that case sounds like over heating imo

well go update that bios, then see if it works, and if not, take the side panel off, and try again.

so far it has been game base of the quake 3 engine. But doom 3 did to me once and now i can play it without any trouble

I had the same problem. I was helping a friend out and was going to upgrade his video card from a Nvidia MX 420 64M card to a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro that I had laying around. I did the normal removal of the nvidia drivers via Windows Control Panel, then shut down the system, installed the Radeon and rebooted. Installed the new Catalyst drivers for the card and everything seemed to be running fine in Windows.

Whenever we loaded up Everquest, the game went to a CRAWL. The MX420 would run circles around the Radeon, which totally blew my mind.

But someone on another board said that Nvidia has a notorious way of installing it drivers everywhere and it takes some real rooting around to remove the drivers completely. But this could possibly be the reason why the Radeon card is running so badly.
I havent had a chance to try everything they said over at forums.pcper.com but hopefully i can this weekend and give the Radeon another try in his system.

Hope that gives you a little bit of help. If it does work out for ya, drop another post here and let me know.

Thanks
Crio
