I've unlocked all four cores of my 550 but now I'm trying to run AMD Overdrive to mess with some settings- particularly to disable one possibly bad core. I've installed the newest OD version and I keep getting an "AMD Overdrive failed to start" error. I've unistalled it and tried an older version(I believe 2.15) and it runs with no problems. I don't like the 2.15 version though because it doesn't give me the option of disabling cores. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?

I have run into the same issue with the new version of Overdrive. If I wait about 3 minutes after the system boots, the error goes away. Im sure you have let the system sit for a few minutes but I figured I would suggest it since it worked for me.

You've got some borked dll's from some botched install or such I would guess?

Well, this thread's been dead for a while so can anyone come up with any other suggestions?

Do you have the AMD chipset driver install?

I see your running Vista 64... maybe try it as ADMIN
