Ok so here is my issue.

I have the XFX 4890 card paired up with the Corsair CMPSU-850TX 850W power supply and i cant seem to get the PCIe power connectors to plug in all the way in the 4890. They go in about 3/4 of the way and just seem to hit a wall. I have pushed with quite a bit of force and just wont connect completely.

Here are some pics:

Any ideas/remedy's to fix this problem?? Im stumped...

Make sure there is no obstruction on the female connectors on the card. You also might want to try and connect the power cords before you set the card in the slot.

I have tried, both the card and psu were brand new at the time i installed it

Is it a modular PSU, were both ends of the cable look similar? If so, try switching ends. They might be keyed different.

That power supply isn't modular and both the tips on the cables as well as the sockets on the card are going to be standardized and stamped the same as every other one off the factory line. I doubt the socket or the tip are the problem. Is there anything obstructing either side? Do you have anything else PCIE, PSU or video card, that you can try for redundancy? Get a picture of the inside of the PCIE sockets on the card and the PCIE plugs on the power supply.

Will do

UPDATE:

Ok so I played around with plugging in the 4890 a bit today and had no luck with the corsair.... So I tried using my OCZ psu's pci-e connectors and they plugged in just fine

So i went back to the Corsair psu and attempted to plug it in one last time for the day, and what the hell happened? It plugged in just fine after disconnecting the OCZ connectors....
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Something must have slid into a different position or opened up more or something in the cards female pcie must have realigned.

I dont know what happened and really don't care to be honest haha, this thing has been a hassle this past week and now that it works i am not touching it lol :p
