problem installing omega drivers: hpsdpappcoreapp.msi

When I try to install the newest Omega drivers I get an error saying it can't find the location of hpsdpappcoreapp.msi. I have an HP ze2308wm notebook with an ATI 200m IGP. I've searched here and Google and tried removing all the registry entries that say hpsdpappcoreapp.msi to no avail. It appears the drivers still install correctly, BUT when I try tobring up the ati tray tools my system blue screens and reboots. I'm sure I probably removed this file or something when I got rid of all the superflous crap HP installs. Any ideas? TIA
 
1) Re-install the HP drivers that originally came with your notebook.
2) Reboot.
3) Install the Omega drivers over the top of the HP ones.
4) Reboot.
5) ...
6) Profit?

I didn't think you were supposed to install graphics drivers on top of other graphics drivers?
 
for some unknown reason the OS and drivers that come preinstalled on brand name computers really suck. my neighbor had to buy a new copy of XP and reinstall it on his HP. been running fine ever since.
 
Don't install video drivers on top of the HP drivers . . .

Uninstall ALL AT/HPI video drivers in the PC via the control panel, get Driver Cleaner PE, follow it's instructions, then reinstall the drivers of your choice.

I had done that. It wasn't a probem of getting the drivers to install it was the error I kept getting about the missing .msi file. Maybe I wasn't very clear. At first I thought maybe the hpsdpappcoreapp.msi file it said was missing during installation had something to with ati tool not working. I figured out that I had to change a value in a ati tool ini file disabling overclocking and now it works, but with no oc ability which I'm not concerned about anyway. Basically it was making me question whether or not the driver had installed properly, but it appears it did.
