Sound Blaster Audigy OEM

Alright so I built a computer for my dad and it worked fine for a month, then it complained about the Creative Soundblaster programs. Each time it booted, it would give me a "Send error report or cancel" prompt for each of the programs. I reinstalled the drivers and it worked fine.. but now the CDRom drives will not function...

Im not sure where this problem is coming from. Ive tried removing a few components but it still yells at me and CDRoms refuse to function.

Edit: The DVD rom drives functions perfect. CD-R seems to be the problem.

And on a side note the plextore DVD (Px-116A) will sometimes boot with its yellow LED constantly in the Lit positionm rendering it useless since the OS will not recognize it.

The CD Roms worked at one point since I played DVDs and installed Windows off them

As allways check your cables twice..... I know you have, do it agin.
I've heard of many IRQ conflicts with SB equipment. Try reloacating it to a diffrent pci slot.

Right after I posted I did that. Could there being no audio cables on the CD-Roms be the problem? DVD rom works fine w/o it, maybe my CD-R is busted

You dont need that audio cable if your running xp.
Maybe, if you have a spare drive try it.
It allmost seems that something is going wrong with that IDE port...... try booting without the SB card and see if your drives work.
