Problem caused my OC?

Well my computer semi-froze twice in 2 days. Once was yesterday while playing guitar hero 3 and the 2nd time was today while playing COD4.

When it semi-freezes it gets VERY laggy and freezes for a few secs and I try to minimize and that takes like 45 secs and it minimizes and it's fine then I maximize and it shits out on me.

I oced my 4000 but just keeping the multiplier at 10.5 and moving the Frequency to 258ish I think. I didn't do anything else. The voltage is on auto and runs at about 1.44

I OCed my 8800GT OC to 675Core (linked shader) and 938 memory. Is there anyway to test teh stability of this?

Note: I oced my 4000 a while ago and had no troubles but I got my 8800GT a few days ago so that might be it. When it freezes it acts like it can't process all of the information fast enough or something. It's hard to explain.

Try turning the oc down on the video card,if that does not work then try turning down the oc on the CPU.

Yeah I set the 8800GT to stock.

If I set the CPU to stock (2.1ghz) it would probably bottleneck my 8800gt pretty good.

Could it be a voltage issue? Maybe not enough power getting to it? I had it on auto and that was like 1.44v and when that happened I couldn't run prime95 but now when I have the voltage set at 1.6v it runs prime95 fine.

Can you explain what you have done because what you posted doesnt make a lot of sense.

I assume you meant the first post. I'll try to reword that.

I got a 4000+ (dual core, am2) at a stock frequency of 2.1ghz. I overclocked it to 2.7ghz. The way I overclocked it was set it to 258 frequency at 10.5 multi. 10.5 x 258 = 2.7ghz.

I then got an 8800GT and overclocked it a little bit but now I set it back to stop and we'll see how it works.

ok cool, let us know if that works.
We can help you clock the cpu if its a problem but theres no point going there if its fixed by declocking the gfx card.

It seemed to run alright.

Basically I did 3 scrims before hand and it always crashes in scrims which is probably because of a mod. The first scrim ran fine and the 2nd and 3rd one were bad. Now that tells you that it's not a constent thing so i'm guessing I can't give a definent answer but I can say it ran pretty good that one time.

Could it because I had my voltages on auto for CPU? I moved htem to like 1.5 now and it seems alright and can run the stress test and stuff.

Well it seems to work a bit better now.

I saw some people OC theirs to like 700core, why did mine get all shitty on me when I OCed to 675?

Could it have been my CPU not getting enough volts and NOT my GPU being OCed to much?
