Ok, so I've installed a fresh copy of WHS on a new disk. I took the old drive that used to be my old WHS (trial edition), and installed it into the system. I have not added it to the storage pool yet yet, as I want the data from that disk and I know adding it will format the disk. I can browse the files on the old disk, but as soon as I try and copy them to the new disk I get an error saying "The file cannot be accessed by the system."

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to put the old disk in another system, and then copy the data to my WHS?

Make sure you are at the right file path

Assuming drive letter is F:
F:\DE\Shares

Wow. That was my problem.

I didn't look in the "DE" folder, since I had one called "shares" on the root of the drive that had all my data in it (or so I thought).

Thanks!
