This is probably a dumb question, but can you run 2 X1950Pro's in Crossfire on a board that has 2 16x PCI-E slots like any SLi board? I've never actually looked into SLi or Crossfire so Im really uneducated, and was looking for a quick anwser. Im pretty sure you cant, just figured I'd ask.
The board in question is the matx evga sli board.

far as I know... you have to have the ATI northbridge chip to run Crossfire, even with the new X1950 pros that eliminate Master Card dependancy. :(
 
Im going to assume the above poster is correct, which is sort of what I thought, I was just hoping for the best though.

Anyone have a positive 100% yes or no anwser though?
 
I would search for hacked drivers since people have gotten SLI working on the Intel 975x chipset, which support Crossfire, there may be the reverse. But probably only for the cards that do not require a mastercard.
 
Some boards can be hacked to get this stuff working... For the most part, however, you need an ATI (or to a certain extent Intel) NB.
