alright, my lil' brother has an 8800gts in his a8nsli premium (luved that mobo) and he cant use the display port closest to the motherboard because it isnt displaying green, we are using dvi to vga adapters but when i hooked up my dvi to dvi cable it worked just fine, i know it isnt the monitors or the cables or even the adapters because i have many that i tried but my only dvi cable is now lent out to a friend and i was wondering is there any way to fix this? i tried to do a dvi to vga to dvi thing but on the monitor it doesnt have holes for the 4 bins above and below the flat horizontal pin, is it possible to cut off those 4 pins or will it just destroy the adapter?

My guess is that either circitry or connector on the video card which outputs the analoge (VGA) signals is faulty. If its the connector, you might try flushing it out with some electronic cleaning solvent. On the solder side of the board, just look for any bad solder joints.

now that im thinking about it, with the connector and stuff, the dvi to dvi cable didnt have those 4 pins above and below the flat horizontal pin, could those be the problem? ill try flushing it out with some distilled water and dry it off with the fan, but first ill need to look at it :)

It may be that one connector in the DVI/VGA adapter is just slightly too short on the DVI connection and is not making good contact when plugged into one of the ports.
Try another DVI to VGA adapter.

it sounds like a bad adapter b/c I just had that same setup like 2 days ago and it worked perfectly.

Try different adapters. ;)
