Okay, I have a WD 200GB 7200 RPM HD. I divided it into two partitions: a 30 GB one for Windows XP Pro and all my apps/games, and a 156GB one for all my other junk.

When I access the 156gb partition and click a folder, it 'lags' (for lack of a better word) for about 10 seconds before the folder is finally selected. It only does it on this partition - the other one is fine. I tried new IDE cables and it still does it, and it does it even after a reformat (on the Windows partition).

I don't know what's causing the "hangup"

I have another WD200GB drive in my system with 1 big partition, but it works fine.
