I have been building my computers since 1989. In the past, before I would purchase hardware I would check the so called pro reviews: AnandTech, A1 reviews, Overclockers.com, etc., Tom's Hardware to name just a few. In almost every case when I purchase hardware using the glowing reviews reported by the "pro" I have not been able to achieve the same results, especially concerning over clocking motherboards, cpu's and memory timing. Do the reviewers buy on the open market like you and I, or do they receive special binned hardware from the mfg? Perhaps what I'm asking; is there a reputable review site that only reviews hardware purchased on the open market? Not long ago, I read a glowing review concerning the new DFI Lanparty UT nF3 Ultra-D from one of the above mentioned sites. All one needs to do is visit the DFI forum and read all the problems they are having with that board. Is this another example of a reviewer doing a fast review to meet a publishing deadline without thoroughly testing the product? Do any of them overclock and report if the overclock is prime95 stable?
