i dont know about the above questions. but i have the Canon i560 and its a pretty decent printer, prints photos and documents all very good

canon is probably one of the very best printers you can get right now.. they have excellent quality, the ink isn't too badly priced, and it's a multiple ink system, so you can replace one color at a time saving costs..

the only think I don't like is that they dont' have an auto paper detection sytem like the hp's do yet, unless they added that feature, and I missed that.. course, it's more of a nuisance than anything else.. also, did I mention that most of the high end canon printers are under $200? gotta love that. the 960 is around $169 now, and the new PIXMA iP5000 is just at $200.. haven't read too much on that one yet, but it has much better image quality over the 960..

I got an HP deskjet 5650 and it prints great... I would say Cannon and HP would be the biggest brands to look at. Look at the difference in ink like you said, I think HPs are pretty much interchangable with most models, not sure about Cannon. When I buy a printer main thing I look for is image quality, price, and type (inkjet, laser, etc). Truthfully though, printers don't matter much to me as long as I can read and see the picture clearly, and doesn't have problems/breaks alot.

I can't believe there are still people unaware of Google. You're s'posed to research a little before asking us. We want informed inquirers.
