Can anyone help me out on what printer to buy that doesn't suck ink (usage and cost) so that I don't go broke printing.

I will use this printer for school, work, and my wife will use it for coupons online.

Well, laser printers will be able to print the most pages per roll of ink. If you don't mind black and white printing, I'd suggest a laser printer. The laser roll for the printer is $18 and has a stated yield of 1,600 pages.

If you're thinking of color, the cost benefits of Laser decrease, but they still come out ahead. Where you run into issues is for multi-function color printers. You can get a decent inkjet multi-function color printer for no more than $100, but you can easily spending $200 for a base multi function laser. You'll spend less on laser cartridges, but at the cost of a higher initial cost.

Edit: Also, if you want an inkjet, make sure you look at one that uses individual color cartridges rather than one 'Color' and one 'Black'. This can help save money since say you run out of yellow, you don't need an entirely new 'Color' cartridge, you can just buy the yellow instead. Lasers have always worked this way, and this is why the cost advantage of color laser printers decrease if you care about color.
