print to pdf locks up?

everytime i try to print to pdf the program conversion locks up. just hangs in the convert. I am On xp sp2 and have adobe 6 and reader 8 installed. anything I can do here? just won't print to pdf at all.

Basics: have you rebooted since the issue began. Have you run detect/repair on Acrobat (assuming you're using Acrobat)?

Check running processes and see if anything is visibly locking up.
 
yeah acrobat. I tried upping the version and now it hangs at the end of the conversion not the begining. gettting closer. seems to be isolated to one application now. Intelevent tracking software prints to pdf and it is locking up at the end of the convert now not the begining.
 
What are you trying to print from? Office?

EDIT: I realized you already posted what you were trying to print from. Try another pdf writer if you can't get the newest version of adobe. There may also be an update from the maker of that software for pdf printing.
 
doPdf looks pretty good. Fast install, fast conversion = thumbs up

for some reason I updated adobe from 6 to 8 (still did not work) and then set default printer to pdf and then it worked. thanks all.

printing from a program called intellevent.
