I have a Brother HL-1440 printer and I got it to work but all of a sudden a print spool error showed up and now i cant print anything. I went into the print spooler subsystem folder and restarted it then went to the printer and the spooler error showed back up again.

Tried restarting yet, as the print spooler is restarted each time with the system...

I would also try reinstalling the driver if that does not work, as if the files in the spooler directory do not clear out, it causes lots of problems.

yes i have restarted the spooler many times nothing same error appeared. i also have reinstalled the drivers same problem and i have cleared the directory so i am stumped

Yeah that is a toughie, Think the spooler files are hosed, you could try reinstalling the windows files?

By chance had you recently disabled any un-needed services? Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services >, and scroll down the list. Look for the service called "Print Spooler", and it's dependant service "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)" and make sure both services are set to "Automatic".

A while back I was disabling services to free up more ram. One day I went to go print and I couldn't. Got some Print Spool error, like you are. Print Spooler was started and set to automatic, and I was stumped, then I saw the Dependencies tab, and sure enough there was RPC. Scrolled down and it was disabled, Oops! Re-enabled it to automatic and restarted the service and sure enough, I could print again.

Not sure if this'll help, but just in case, good luck!
