I've had this problem for a while now and cannot figure it out.
We have one Multi-Function Canon printer. It's connected via USB to my dads machine. I have sharing enabled on the printer, and I have "installed" it to my machine. Notice that we do not have a print server.
I can print fine, however to access the Preferences; it take literally 2-3 minutes for the screen to appear. Once it appears I can make changes swiftly and smoothly. The same thing happens when I right click the printer on my machine and click Properties.
Any ideas on how I can fix this? I'm assuming it's the WinXP Firewall screwing up, however it shows that File and Printer sharing as an exception. With that said, I have no issues getting files from his PC. Only the Print Properties/Preferences. The funny part is that it USED to work . . .
Any help is appreciated.
