Guys, i gotta question about stress testing programs, i guess its kinda stupid but i need to know. Basically, i'd like to know if its ok to run other programs while running Prime95, Intel Burn Test and others. I'm talking about light programs like a web browser or Excel or Word. As we all know Prime95 needs to run for at least 24 hours to determine if the system is completely stable but i need acess to my PC while its running so i can at least go online. So i'm wondering if running other programs while Prime is running will make it crash, this is why i'm asking about this.
 
If running another program makes your PC crash, it isn't stable. You should be able to run other stuff without any problems, although they might be slow since your system resources will be mostly consumed by the testing program.
 
Running blend test and other programs will be a pain since it uses up all your resources.
 
I always do other stuff while I'm stress testing my systems. However, I don't do anything critical at all. I'll do some web browsing, light gaming, IRC and things like that. I will not do anything that requires absolute stability because I'm testing for stability right then.

I actually encourage people to do small things like browsing while running the stress test programs. You're more likely to find out problems that way because you're doing more on the machine than just the test.
