So I ran a prime torture test blend on my OC. No errors running for 12 hours before I shut it off.

Then I tried to up the fsb by 5 with the same voltages and got a bsod overnight into about 3 hrs of testing.

So I changed it back down to the original stable fsb I had and went to school. I came home and to my suprised the computer has restarted itself. I then ran it again and took a short nap. The computer again restarted itself. I then ran it again not changing any settings since the first restart and it chugs on for 6 hrs before I shut it off.

Then at night on the same day I ran it again and it errored 3 hrs into testing. So I ran it again before I went off to school and it runs for 7 hrs before I shut it off.

Could it be a temperature issue? I know my temps aren't the best. Idles at about 42-47c and loads as high as 70c according to coretemp/HWMonitor but usually sticks around at 65 on prime95 load.

Sounds like the same issues people are having over at the XS forums. Some are going as far to say that the processor needs a warm up period before running Prime95. Are you only getting this issue when running Prime or is it all the time when the computer goes under load (gaming, video encoding, etc..)? Your load temp seems kinda high, higher than I would personally go with it, which might cause some concern.. especially with the 45nm cpu.

Hmm, I've followed that thread and I didn't think it was the same as my problem because my comp is never turned off. Unless the thread starter meant he needs to warm his cpu from idle to load?

Yea the load temp has me worried but going by realtemp the load max would only be 60 so I really don't know what to go by. And I figured my CPU hardly runs that hot for long periods of time. In any case, I've set it back down to 3.8ghz @ 1.25vcore for now (was at 4ghz @ 1.31 vcore).

Oh and it has only ever happened during prime. I've never had a BSOD or reboot or crashes outside of prime.

Also would like to add all tests were blend. Ram voltage was at 1.9 or 2.0v I can't remember. My ram is rated at 2.0-2.1 @ 1000 so I figured 1.9 or 2 should be enough to get 890 out of it. However, I'm redoing the tests on small tft now to see if it was my ram or not.

I've had similar issues with mine at 445 x 9 - some times it would run 12 hours, sometimes it would error out after just a few minutes - although it never rebooted. OCCT was fine and it never had a problem in games or anything. Strangely enough, now that I've gone back to 500 x 8 it works fine.

Interesting. How long do you run OCCT, 30 mins? I used to do OCCT then off to Prime95 but then prime would find an error 2 hours later so I skipped OCCT because it's like I just wasted 30 mins.

Also, are you running that ram at 2.0 or 2.1?

Usually just the 30 min auto setting, but I did some testing on custom and let it run for a couple of hours. RAM is at 2.0 volts.

So I ran prime95 overnight for 9 hrs and stopped it. Started it again and it errored within 34 mins.
