Prime no errors when no load but errors occur when gaming

I ran prime for 24 hours to test stability and it was good until I started gaming (failed at 2560K FFT length). Once I starting gaming I got errors. I tested this again today and it wasn't until I started gaming that errors occured. Memtest86 was fine for 10 hours last week and 8 hours last night. Am I not giving memtest enough time? I also noticed in the Windows Task Manager that half of my physical memory is in use and half is being cached.

run the small FFT's in p95.. see if any of them fail.. if they do then its not stable.. if you run the large FFT's or blend it will test the cpu and ram.. if that fails then you might need to tweak your settings for the memory..


are you running this on the athlon 2100+?
 
Keep in mind that when you start gaming you place additional stress on the Northbridge as it is transferring a lot of video data/commands to/from the CPU and video card. So if you were on the edge as far as thermals or buss timings the additional work and interrupt handling might tip you over the edge into instability.

Good way to test.

I love my NF7-S, but my audio died in it so I figure its time to turn it into a server. i'm testing a new build:
ECS A780GM-A (horrible horrible to OC... I don't recommend it after being so used to the NF7-S)
2x2GB Corsair XMS
AMD Athlon II x2 Regor 245

Crazy how much technology has improved and gotten cheaper... my cores haven't gone over 28 Celsius yet due to the advances of heatpipes in CPU heatsinks (as well as them being massive) and cases that actually keep airflow in mind for a lot less than when I built the NF7-S.

lol its an ECS board.. there isnt anything good about it to begin with.. its a bargain budget OEM board maker that was used in Fry's electronics combo deals.. but they finally moved over to asus and biostar boards.. the board will work fine as a server but thats about it.. i wouldnt trust it on anything else..
