What does it mean when you're burning a cpu and one core fails but the rest of the core will burn for hours. Is it a failed Overclock?

failure is failure, unless, say it is an amd processor where you unlocked a core. otherwise there is no way to guarantee what core a process runs on. anyway you can either bump some voltages up or notch the cpu down a bit....

Memory can also cause prime95 to fail, particularly if you have it set to use a lot of RAM (which is best IMO if you really want to test your system, not just the CPU).

Yup

But... if one core fails consistently, I doubt you can blame ram. It's just that core not liking your OC.
