pricing question on E8400 and E6750

Egg has the E8400 cheaper than the E6750. That seemed rather strange to me. Why is the faster/better CPU cheaper? I'm I missing something

The E8400 is significantly faster and overclocks much better as well. It's definitely a better purchase than the E6750.

Supply and demand. Intel has stopped making the E6750 so supply is low and therefore the prices remain high. There is a larger supply of the E8400 and so the prices are lower.

No demand doesn't necessarily mean that prices will drop.

There's no incentive to change the price because nobody is buying them. It's sort of a vicious circle.
