Preventing Outlook from creating Quicklaunch Icon

Hey everyone. Ever since I switched to roaming profiles, I've had this problem.

I create a copy of the Outlook icon from the Start Menu in the task bar, since it has more functionality (you can right-click, and go into mail properties, etc...). Yet, every time I start Outlook, it creates a another freaking icon (with no functionality, of course).

How do I prevent it from doing this?

Are you saying that everytime time you launch Outlook, it creates another icon in the quick launch area?

Yup. It is the most irritating thing I have come across in a while. It is always the little things that get me.

I've just been deleting it every time I log in, but it's getting old. I would create a batch file or something, but that would have to run when I booted up.... and the icon doesn't appear until Outlook starts.

Wow. I'm shocked at how easy the fix I figured out was. All I did was right-clicked the shortcut's properties and made it "hidden".

Hope this helps someone else in the future...

Uhh, from the fix you describe, the icon wasn't in the quick launch bar, it was in the system tray. And you can do lots of things from that icon. Especially for troubleshooting when you CTRL+Click on the icon.

Actually, if you look at the second and third posts, you'll see someone asked if it was in the "Quick Launch" bar. I replied that it was.
