Despite the fact that I'm repeatedly told that it does not effect performance I can't stand to see my shiny NV-78 capitulate to copper oxidation. My question is what is the best method for preventing this from happening in my loop?

Inside the loop or on the flat surface? You can clearcoat anything that doesnt touch the CPU or the Water. For the inside of your loop I'd add about 10ml of vinegar (5ml if you're running a Tline).
