Pretty sure this should stay on the processor.

Well I was cleaning out an old dell dimension when I took off the heat sink and the processor came off with it. So I decided to get a small razor blade to pry it off the heat sink. Didn't turn out too well.

So the processor came off on the IHS, processor died, so I decided to see how hard it would be to remove the IHS from the heatsink. Well to remove it I had to get a hammer and a putty knife. It was pretty much glued to it.

End of story. :p

Interesting. What processor was that? I put some AS5 on a Dimension P4 awhile back and the heatsink certainly wasn't glued on.

1.7 p4. I replaced it with a 2.4 celeron. It is just a monowall box.
