right now im atempting to push the limits of my board and CPU..whichever comes first...

currently im running at 2.6 ghz at 290 HTT

2800+ (1.8ghz stock), NEWCASTLE(sorry for my retartedness) core, unknown stepping (completely forgot to check) at 1.85 vcore (i set it up high to give myself some headroom....)

think i can go higher?

im currently idling at 48-50c

ps....wouldnt this be at about 4000+?

lol...maxes at 295HTT......2.65 ghz

ive gotten it to boot into windows twice to try to get a SS of 2.7ghz...but paint crashes the computer :p

and did you know that 50mhz of overclocking can add 900+pts to your 3dmark2001se score?

Nice overclock anyways, my 3000+ winchester hits 2.6 ghz without sweating but I run it at 3500+ speeds for everyday use. :p
 
well i havent seen anyone running any 2800+ at this high of a HTT...so yea...and i changed it to what it should be.....lol

You need to run memtest to make sure the system is stable.
Booting into windows at too high an OC can corrupt your OS. Game reviewers do it to push things, but you'll get tired of having to reformat and start over.
And the CD that came with your MB should have a utility that shows the temps of everything in real time. 50c at idle is ok, but when you put the system under load, I'm sure it's going up near 65c and that's the limit. Anything above 65c is dangerous.
 
I'm able to bench my 3400+ Clawhammer @ 2.5GHz w/ some voltage. Might try to see how high it'll go before it fails for fun, but I'm not too fond of the idea of blowing anything up at the moment. :cool:
