Pretty amazing performance

I finally got around to using my new rig to do some encoding of dvds and stuff today. I have been gaming on it, and normal operation, and while it felt much faster in some ways than my old amd xp 1800, it wasn't until I encoded a dvd in about 7 minutes that I was blown away. Last time I did a similar dvd on my old comp, it took about 3 hours.

are you sure that you didn't use an unencrypted disk vs. one with tough encryption, those numbers don't seem right.

Dunno, but nothing *ever* took less than 2 hours before. My old proc was almost 7 years old, so it's not too surprising to me. It's been 8-9 months since I did any encoding though, so maybe there is some software difference.

Still fast as hell and I'm very happy with it :)
