Presler?

They look like Presler chips, but it is most definitely illegal for them to be sold. I know Intel has come down on people trying to sell them on eBay before, since engineering samples are technically always property of Intel. I wouldn't personally recommend buying them :p. I have read that thread. I was just curious as to if they were presler chips or not. That guy seems to have alot of ES chips. Prolly works for a MoBo maker.
 
Those are preslers all right, and it looks like somebody is going to lose their job. The idiot put a close up of the numbers..... and intel can trace that down to the person who recieved them. Not smart. It's one thing when you are selling an ES that's a few years old... it's another to sell a chip that is not out yet. What an idiot.....
 
Its from taiwan. There tons of chips and fabs over there- not uncommon to see this.

It's not uncommon, even in the states, hell I'm looking at trays full of Dual Core HT Xeons and preslers. But it is fairly uncommon to see somebody sell that many processors. Look at his other auctions. If there was ever a case of Intel investigating my guess is it'll be this one.
 
The sale might go through, but the company or website that gets them might just loose their freebies. :eek:
 
Its called speedstep, downclocking the cpu when idle and only using the full 3400MHz when needed.
