Prescott voltages

Hey guys

I have the Prescott system in my sig.... its a Prescott 3.2 running at 1.35 volts..... I usually have it running around 3.5ghz stable. I was hoping for around 3.8 stable, but I tried slight increases in voltage and it did nothing for me. I usually hit 63 degrees at full load at this voltage. For all you guys that have a high clocked Prescott, what voltage are you running? Any other recommendations?

When i have my 3.0 running at 4.1 the max temp is 68-70*c. When on 3.6 at 1.48v which is really around 1.44v. Its max temp is 63*c. So there is something up if your load on stock is 63*c. Reseat your heatsink. What heatsink do you have??? My prescott running from 3.0-3.3 on stock volts idles at 42*c and full load 53*c. SO there is something really up and my abit mobo reports temps higher then they are so its even cooler so reseat your hsf and see what you get.
 
I just got the ABIT Fatal1ty AA8XE mobo last night... haggled a guy @ compusa to sell me it for 160...

I've always used AMDs... curious as to how hard or different it is to overclock the Prescotts, as im going to go with a 640 i think.
 
well my 63 degree full load temp is at 3.5ghz.... but yea, its at 1.35 v....

I dont know what heatsink I have, but yes, I do know that it sucks.... its one of those heatpipe towers, but the design is retarded! Instead of mounting its fans to blow horizontally (when the board is standing up), the fans are mounted at the top and bottom, vertically.... so airflow is heavily restricted by my PSU, AND it actually sucks some of the hot air from the PSU and brings it into the heatsink.... I'd reverse the fan flow, but then it would just suck hot air from my video card.....

Bah.... I'll take a pic maybe to show u what I'm talking about (if i can ever fix my digital camera).
 
I have my prescott at 1.51v it idles below 39c, its actually at 34c right now but I just got home so it hasn't been busy yet. With 1.52 I can do this http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=54779 I haven't even tried pushing the voltage higher, i'm trying to get a 6x0 chip so I can take the multiplier down to 14x. I've had similar results with all the E0 Socket 775 prescotts i've owned. I did have a 3.2 socket 478 prescott and that bastard ran soooo hot, couldnt get anywhere near the oc's i'm getting on the 775's.
