What is the correct voltage setting for a Prescott 3.0E operating at normal speed. I have a Gigabyte 8KNXP Rev 2.0 and it sets the default voltage at 1.3875. Is that to high? My processor has been running hot and I wondered if the voltage needs to be lowered to cool it down. What is the least amount of voltage the Prescott needs to remain stable? Just wondered?

Thanks

I've heard prescotts run hot. Mine seems to run real hot when i put 1.7v to it.:D

Prescotts run HOT no matter what the voltage. Unless you run yours a 1.0v and 1.5Ghz then they run cool.

They are supposed to adjust the voltage according to load. However, if you set your voltage manually supposedly the dynamic voltage doesnt work correctly. Thats why SOME mobo manufacturers have locked the voltage to default.
