Pretty suprising. For those that haven't read it, it's a good and unique way of how they took the temps and compared various cpu's.
 
Here's my thoughts...
NW runs cooler with HT enabled on average. Enable the feature, Windows can recognize and appropriately give stop signals or however the damn idle process works and cool the chip more efficiently.

Enabling the 64bit extensions will probably make full load temps go up, but I'm betting they didn't actually cut the traces, they probably are still powered and not being recognized.

It would not suprise me if the idle and light load temps went down after 64bit has been enabled at XP 64 is released.
