Prepair for the Future! {Fallout 3]

But even still; I'd like to point out that any argument saying F3 is not canon is unequivocally false. Bethesda bought the rights to the Fallout IP, and in turn bought the rights to the story and all that goes in it. What they say and create is now canon - not Interplay.
Well, that's not really how that works. If they go against something that has already established in the first two games, it doesn't matter how much they paid for the IP, if it conflicts, it ain't canon.

OMG OMG OMG PETE HINES! OMG OMG! Pete Hines!!!!111~ wait... Who is he again?
Petes Hines is Bethesda's gasbag (i.e. PR manager). So, think of someone like Cevat Yerli, only someone that lies a tad less frequently, is generally less attractive and doesn't have any real impact on anything Bethesda does :)

Where does Fallout3 conflict with the canon of the Fallout series? Off the top of my head I really can't think of anything 'different' re: the story / canon.

Sure they made most ghouls combative, which naturally they are pacifists. But what's to say that west coast ghouls couldn't have a violent disposition? Also, I might be mistaken but ghouls would still attack from time to time in F1+2.

I think a lot of non-canon things could be mistaken as a simple change of atmosphere / environment. The west coast is vastly different than the east coast in regards to climate, social, and even political atmosphere. This could and IMO would change much of the game.

How about this... A new game means new content, storyline, characters, weapons, items, locations, & mutants. Easy stuff to add to the canon & make best of it. Fallout 3 does have a continuation in number for a reason. It's not FO1 or 2!

Yeah he's just paid to spin crap. The "brains" behind the dumbing down of their games is Todd Howard.

I'm totally looking forward to this game, even if it just turns out to be "Oblivion with guns". I still found myself enjoying Oblivion (and totally exploiting the level system) despite the drawbacks.

However, the only thing I think of when I look at this thread is the glaring spelling error in the title. I will not be a spelling nazi and correct it, but damn, it makes me cringe!

So you admit you find Cevat Yerli attractive.

Well, technically, all I said was that Pete Hines was "generally less attractive" than Cevat, so I didn't specifically say that Cevat was attractive. But, yes, I'll admit it -- Cevat's a good looking guy. There. The cat's out of the bag, so to speak.

'Course, he's no American McGee!

But can he really compete with John Romero:

Yeah. The ghouls kept attacking me after I killed a few of them and started stealing their women... and weapons. And then they kept attacking me after I blew up their reactor. :(

They are very aggressive. I couldn't help but annihilate the town because they kept up their aggression. Made me cry a tear or two.

I'd like to goddamn 'prepare for next month' with some freakin system requirements. WTF Bethesda?

More than likely if you could run Oblivion your going to be able to run F3 , but If you have never Played Oblivion... then

you should get by with a

2.4ghz processor or better, dual or not preferably a dual core I would assume.
1-2gb of DDR2 or greater
10Gb free of HD space
Geforce 7 or ATI 2900xt 256meg of ram or better on the video

Modded Oblivion is reportedly much harder to run than vanilla, so F3 is probably as well.
It's reasonable to expect an official word from the dev only a month from release.
