When I import a fraps avi that I compressed with VirtualDub and I also compressed the audio with the Lame MP3 codec within VirtualDub the audio isn't there when I am editing in Premiere Pro, like when I drop the clip to the timeline it has no audio track and when I preview the track in the source window no audio plays. Also when the clip is imported it dosen't have the little speaker symbol on top of the video icon so it apparently isn't recognizing that the MP3 track. Any idea what might be wrong?

Also the audio plays in virtualDub and Windows Media Player so nothing appears to be wrong with the compression, the audio for the clip just dosen't show up in Premiere Pro.

And I tried a different MP3 codec and still the same problem.

Try to not recompress the audio in Virtual Dub and see if that works.
Choose Direct Stream Copy for the Audio.

Also, does Permiere not like the avi straight from Fraps?
