prelude and xbox 360

i just ordered the X-Fi Prelude will i be able to hook up my 360 to the opticle port and use 5.1? if you need to know i have klipsch 5.1 PMU

I'm not exactly sure y this is, but I can listen to games on my 360 via prelude on my headphones. However, I cannot listen to DVD's via prelude. I suppose they don't support digital audio?
