Hey!

I recently moved into the USA (and i love it :D)

Anyway, it's time to upgrade my computer, and i was wondering what shops are you guys's favorites. I've looked a bit around, but theres so much to choose from!

What I want: LOW prices and good selection..

Feel free to list a few :D

/me points ^^^ to the top of this forum..

see that company right upt here? newegg.com? They're great.

I believe in CA you should have some Fry's Electronics nearby. That's a great store to visit in person. You'll pay sales tax, but Newegg.com is the absolute best site on the web.

Dude (or Dudette :D)

newegg.com all the way - everyone here (and any other forum) will swear by it. So will I.

Another vote for ZipZoomFly but I would prefer Mwave if I were living where you are.

Something I don't like about newegg.. they ship FedEx and FedEx only and they don't make it very clear. FedEx will hold your shipment as long as they want, no matter how close you live.

Also.. SVC.com, eXcaliberPC.com, voyeurmods.com, sidewindercomputers.com are excellent choices

btw, where did you move from?

FrozenCPU has mad high shipping rates, I wanted to buy some Arctic Alumina Epoxy for ~8$ and shipping is $7.15 USP Ground

yeah, I wanted to order the same exact item and no matter how small your order is.. the minumum for shipping is $7.15.. these days everyone is better off choosing usps for their shipping carrier

Yeah, if your in San Diego, you definately need to find out where your local Fry's is and arrange a visit, you'll never leave :D

Diego, well for retail chain store, go to Fry's...buy their stuff and test it out, if you are not satisfied return it, hehe.

If you want to shop online, best bet is Newegg. That is prolly the only place that I make online credit card payments for PC stuff. Best!

i would recommend newegg if you didn't live in california. but know that you will have to pay state sales tax if you buy from any place in california.

i would visit www.pricewatch.com and check out some stores there. i try and find the best price from a vendor listed there with a reasonable 2 day shipping rate and ive never had a bad experience

another vote for www.newegg.com , yeah sidewindercomputers.com is great also, frozencpu has great stuff but shipping is ridiculous. I live in the same state as them, and they charged me 7$ to ship a window applique which is light as a feather. It cost about 50 cents to ship a piece of paper, so i dont know where they get off charging 7 bucks.

i've had great service from newegg.com and i want to suggest www.ewiz.com

i'm in the new frys thats here in irving, tx at least once a week...the staff knows me by first name. :) :(

I buy almost all of my stuff from either newegg.com or mwave.com

NewEgg is good, just ordered from ZipZoomFly and it was fine, but nothing spectacular.

Digicams and camcorders I've found good prices and service at www.gazma.com

newegg is the greatest :) . although, another one i really like is sidewinder computers. i usually go to them for cooling supplies.

i see he's in san diego (just like me ;) ), and yes, there is a frys electronics here :) . feel free to shop there for most things, but just be weary of opened items, as often it's hard to see if something has been opened or not.

I shop newegg and tigerdirect, but will also price compuplus or sofistic for certain items. Newegg usually has no shipping (for NJ) and usually comes out better in the long run; certainly saves a lot when buying cases! :D

I buy the majority of my stuff from www.newegg.com. I buy cold cathodes, LED's, and other case modding equipment alot from www.svc.com. For hard drives, optical drives, and other things like that i shop around at places like BestBuy, Circuit City, and Office Max online for their MIR's and IR's because you can usually save a ton of money that way.
