I was wondering if anyone knows any other good websites for good prebuilt comps besides cyberpower or ibuypower. thanks for any help
 
Building your own is the way to go...

Its just fun... dont you think? Getting to open all your new parts and putting them together :) I love it, cant wait to do it again!

But, If you must go pre built :/ I would look at Voodoo PC, they are good, but expensive... or if you just want a generic computer, get a dell...
 
I thought about building and think it would be really cool to do but I dont want to get all the parts put it all together and then it not work I have 0 experience by the way i really just got into learning how comps work i think i have a good idea but no clue how to build so...
 
There are some good guides on the web, it isn't too hard. You can always get help from all of us here at the forum.

Check this one out, a lot of people recommend it.
 
Well I want to give you a little confidence...
I am a Jar Head Marine... I am not the smartest person... I joined the Military because I sucked at high school and couldent get into college :) But I go now, by the grace of the Military :)

I put my first computer together from scratch when i was 15. - That was 5 years ago. I never did it before... How I learned... I looked at the computer I had currenty... took the case off... examined it... took it all apart and put it back together again. wow.. incredibly easy.. just like a puzzle... everything has its own place it goes, so you cant really mess it up.

The hardest part is insatlling all the drivers to make everything work.. but with Windows XP, you really eliminate alot of that... it was a little different and much more complicated with 98 or even 2k....

I really think you can do it, its very simple and there is always people on here to help you... and when you think of building a computer, its not like soddering on all the little chips and stuff... just peicing together the parts...
 
hmm i took my computer apart and was able to put it together... how much cheaper is it to build a computer instead of getting a prebuilt?

oh and what are some good websites for getting parts?

Everyone... EVERYONE on this forum will agree. They have an outstanding selection, good service and good prices.

As for how much cheaper is it? Well that depends... Sometimes its not... but I will gaurentee you one thing... If you were to get the same exact parts and build it yourself... it would be cheaper than buying it pre built...
Going prebuilt may not be cheaper... but it will allow you greater flexability, more choices and more performance than locked into a pre built system.

What are your current specs now?
 
my computer specs arent worth mentioning since my brother took or main pc to college im using or backup nothing can be recycled except monitor keyboard and mouse
I want to make a decent gaming comp hopefully under $1000
 
Under 1000 dollars is going to be hard. If your budget were say 1500. Alot more can be done. That extra 500$ goes along way. Never the less it can be done...
