I have an ageing pc86. The one with the crappy silver bezel
image from web (not mine)
My aim is to make my pc as quiet as possible, but still be able to oc. (oh, and to play with a dremel too)
Big fans and wc it is then. I haven't ordered any water cooling stuff yet. Never tried it before, so still working out what's best for me.
sorry about the bad pics.
Removed the both 3 1/4 drive bays to make room for a rad of some sort and to improve air flow.
Dermeled to fit 120mm fans front, rear and top.
front access to hard drives
Added mesh and port to front
Mesh infront of drives. Hopefully the 120mm top fan will suck some cool air over the drives.
Usb and original fan controller relocated to behind a lian li flippy bezel thing.
The case originally had usb 1 so they needed replacing anyway.
front view. the gap between the mesh and drive bezel looks uneven coz the photo is to dark.
Nothing to see inside. I'm not a fan of lights and windows. May change my mind when i get shiny water cooling in there though.
The 3 120mm fans currently running at 5v provide great cooling. Inside case temp is always the same as the room temp. Processor idles at 29c and maxes at about 38 with stock heatsink and fan. My cheapo sempron 3100 isn't oc yet.
I reccon that the front port spoils the lines of the case so i may change things.
I must thank the people of this forum for a constant stream of inspiration and ideas. Who ever it was who cut a hole near the psu to put wires behind the mother board tray was a genious.
