Holy crap!
I need more coffee!
You all don't know what I went threw to get that info heheh :D

According to this thread here pny GT's shipping on the 26th, so let's hope buy.com gets their cards then too.

My friend that works at Comp USA said they had some PNYs in stock yesterday in orlando so they are already out. They are probably just out of their first shipment, or havn't gotten a shipment yet.

I just got the email yesterday 14th but on the website its not cancelled yet.

ugh you can't be serious.

did you get the "We are still looking for your item" email that others (including myself) have gotten?

i've not recieved any notice of cancellation. anyone else?

Why is like every frigging site offering shit at a lower price and then cant come through. Who the hell is authorizing these prices then bullshitting the customer a few days later. FUCK! If you dont have it or cant come up with it, dont sell it.

I didn't receive a cancelled order email. I got the one that said they were still looking for my item etc.

I ordered pretty early on when this deal hit the web. Perhaps they are cancelling orders that exceeded their expected stock, so those late to the party are getting this email.

I haven't received ANY email since the one that confirmed my order after I placed it. Maybe my order is in Limbo do to the fact that I pr-ordered Doom3 at the same time. Has everyone received some type of follow-up email but me?

Edited: 7:43PM (EST)

OK, I just received the email from Buy.com advising that my order will be shipped when the items are in stock basically. Not the cancelation notice though.

Hmmm, well I havent heard back from my second email I sent them but online my order status is still "sent to warehouse" so maybe it wasn't cancelled and just a mistake. I hope so.

I called Buy.com this morning and after waiting on the phone forever I finally got a service rep on the phone. They said that my order for the GT is still open, and that it would be filled whenever they got some stock. They couldn't give me any estimate on when some of the cards my actually be in stock - "could be a week or could be a month" was basically what I was told. Since they don't even have the 6800 vanilla cards in stock yet my guess is that I'll have to get a GT elsewhere if I want one before Doom 3 comes out. :(

I'm fighting the urge to buy it as I'm not a huge fan of PNY. I went through four Geforce 4600's. Each of them had that bad capacitor, "matrix effect" junk. I spent about $60 sending the cards back and forth.

Finally, I just sold the last one I got back and bought a LeadTek.

Have they gotten better since then?

Thats a good name for it... Matrix Effect... I had that on a ti4200 that I bought from Newegg as a refurb item.... I was pissed!! sent it back and lost the restocking fee or whatever it was.

If I had a buyer lined up for my FX5900, I'd be buying it right now.

Well I just got this from them so they may come through with some orders. :)

AHH .. I am trying SOOOOOoooooooo hard to wait for this deal because I know that the second i cancel my order with them and order from eVGA, they're gonna ship and I am going to be a sucker for blowing $70 too much.

However, that being said, if I don't get in on the "first round" of these things being sent out I don't care whether I have to blow $70 more or not, I need to have a card around the doom3 launch date. I refuse to be left out in the cold.

yes they do. i think we're all willing to risk the fact that we might not get these cards for the fantastic price. despite their reseller ratings grade, they are a big enough company so that you do not need to worry about canceling your order or being frauded.

I have bought from them before and no problems so I not too worried about faceng a loss of anything except them outrigt cancelling the order. Also my order status has changed from "sent to warehouse" to "on order".

still sitting with no "new" taking longer email, and my order is still "sent to warehouse". hopefully that is good news rather than bad.

I've seen a lot of pre-orders for this PNY and other new brands (Asus & Gainward) of 6800GTs. And most say the cards will be available on either 07/22/04 or 07/26/04. Hopefully this will apply to buy.com.

My order status still says sent to warehouse and I haven't received the 3rd email.

I am taking this to be a Good Thing.

Hopefully the week of the 26th will show a card shipped.

They took too long. I canceled my order and will once again try and hold off until I can upgrade to PCI-Express. That way, when the SLI nForce boards come out, I can purchase a new MB and video card and have TWO cards running.

Back to my good old reliable 9700np @ Pro speeds.

I've decided on a modest upgrade for Doom3 which is one of the refurbished Sapphire 9800Pros from Newegg for $167 shipped. Then I'll sell my 9700np on Ebay to help replace at least a good portion of what I spent. Then when I transition to a 939 A64 system with PCI-Express, I'll get a sparkly new 66800GT :D

This should ease my itchy fingers from clicking on "checkout" for a while.

damn they're showing it @ $413 now.

Stupid price gouging... DIE FUCKERS DIE! :)

Sorry I'm just  that I can't seem to get one for a decent price here in Canuck Land.

After having been told that on Friday that the cards were not in stock, were backordered, and that it could be weeks or longer before they were in stock, I bought a GT elsewhere and tried to cancel my purchase of this card from Buy.com over the weekend. At that time I was told I would receive an email within one business day as to whether that cancellation was effective.

I hadn't heard anything by today (Tuesday) so I called them. Now they say that I can't cancel the order because it is in a shipping status, which it has been in since I placed the order on July 10 (it still says "Sent to Warehouse"). I asked both the CS rep and their manager why I couldn't cancel the order if it isn't in stock, and was told they couldn't tell whether any had been received or not, and that they couldn't talk to the warehouse to find out. They said a customer service specialist would contact me in 3-5 business bays about the issue.

Boy, I sure regret buying from Buy.com. I would understand if they were already boxing the thing up to send to me, but if it's not in stock I should be able to cancel it. I don't believe that they can't tell whether any have been received or not - if true it would mean that their inventory system is worse than any other on the planet.

I suppose I can resell this card for a profit, but I'd prefer not to have the hassle. If neither the cancellation nor the card materialize shortly I'm going to be even more upset.

Weird, I did the on-line cancel option and it worked fine for me. My order now says "canceled." But you have to click on the detaile dstatus to see it. The front page still shows "sent to warehouse."

6800GT just showed up on my doorstep from buy.com. I did not recieve an e-mail, but it does say my order is complete on the website.

Pics or shens. Pic of card and invoice from buy.com

I still am unable to cancel my order with Buy.com nearly a week after I first tried to do so. I've gotten conflicting stories, from "someone will call you back" to, today, "even though the item is not in stock your order can't be cancelled because you didn't cancel it within 30 minutes of ordering it." What a joke, although unfortunately the joke is on me because I'm getting no customer support from Buy.com. This will be the last time I ever order anything from them!
