PPD?

I'm only averaging about 800 PPD and trying to figure out if this is right or not

1x Core2Duo ES6600 @ Default 2.4Ghz speed + 2 Gigs of ram: WinXP, SMP Client
2x Pent IVs Hyperthreaded @ 3.0 Ghz + 2 Gigs of ram: WinXP, 2 console clients
1x AMD MP (2 CPUs) + 2 Gigs of Ram: FreeBSD, 2 Linux console clients

1x AMD something or rather dual core + 2 Gigs of Ram: Vista, SMP Client
1x Pent IV Mobile something + 2 gigs of Ram (thinkpad): WinXP, 1 console client1
Core2Duo something (MacBook) + 1 Gig of Ram: MacOSX something, Mac SMP Client

The last three are laptops and not 24x7 (more like 8x5)

I've been running this setup for the last 2 years or so. In the last month I've switched to SMP clients and also added the 3 laptops and only bumped by average PPD up by about 150 points. I'm not sure what's really going on here when I hear stories that people are getting 1100 PPDs just off a Core2Duo ES6600 ??

I don't have any GPU clients

I'm going to throw a Quad core into this mix which will hopefully help; but want to tweak this setup out if I can.

Here is my current stats:

Each Hort axis is 500 points per line
Each Vert is 5 days

You can see a small bump in the last 30 days or so from adding those new machines ans switching to smp; but it's still sucking.

you should be getting WAY more than that running the SMP clients.....are you sure they are all meeting the deadlines and submitting properly? are you also running these 24/7?

The X2 dual core should net you between 600 and 1000 PPD from the X2 3600-4800, and quite a bit more if talking up to the X2 6400 (although I don't have solid numbers on that)....the C2Ds should be able to hit well over 1000 PPD and upwards of 2000 PPD per processor on the SMP client

here are your stats on EOC btw
compare this to say, my December stats which were 4x standard clients and 1x linux SMP, you should be getting way more than that

even now, for January i did 3x SMP and 3x standard client for half the month, and this month I've been doing that the whole time, so you should be somewhere closer to that in numbers

The E6600 at stock speed should be doing 2.4 x 2 x 300 = 1440 PpD.
Check the top of your FAHlog.txt file that your user name is right.
Also check how many work units that client has sent in.

Your P4's sould be doing ~120-200 PpD each.
Same for MP's.

The minimum speed to hit the deadlines for the SMP client is around 1.5 Ghz running 24/7.
So running only 8/5 the minimum speed to hit the deadlines is going to be 4Ghz plus.
So I'm sure the laptop SMP clients are not makeing the deadlines.
So 0 points from them.
Either run 24/7 or reconfig to Standard client.

As your only dropping ~4 WU per Day I think all your points are being done by the non-SMP rigs.
Also check your stats at Stanford.
How many CPU does it say your running in the last 7 days ?
As thats the number of clients that number of clients Stanford records you running that is turning in work.

Yes, I suspect a typo, too. Also, just to be sure, please post some of the E6600's log file for us to see. Preferrably the text right before a new SMP work unit is downloaded until 2% or so.
