had to reinstall win7, got everything set back up...

and I'm getting 250ppd on a gulftown hex at 4.2GHz

FAH 7.3.6

unit 6098, ETA 10 days

all cores maxed

How much of the WU has been completed, and are you getting this estimate from FAHControl? It can be rather inaccurate when starting/resuming a WU since it doesn't have good data on which to make an estimate.

Yup and this includes Core_17 which utilizes a core per GPU for Nvidia cards. When I'm doing something that requires horsepower or even just doing normal tasks it'll drop my PPD a few thousand or cut it in half if I'm maxing my system. I think someone was saying it takes like every 2% for the TPF to be adjusted to the real rate so it might have to sit awhile before it shows you the real results if you just started/resumed your client.

well, I let it cook a few more days and something is definitely fubar with the gulftown rig.

example- at the moment it is 62% through a 6098, estimated ppd 4042, tpf 23min

both the nehalem quad and the 771 2P have been outperforming it by a mile, I think its something I'm missing with this silly new client

update, well, I come down to check on it, what is this; 45 min later and it has gone BACKWARDS to 41%

what the actual fuck?

But did you reduce to stock clocks just to see what happens?

well no, but these are the same clocks I have been running for months

Just curious but have you checked to see if you are actually using all the cores for folding, sounds like to me you may be running smp 1 or something like that.

task manager/performance, CPUz and the meter widget all show 100% loading

task manager shows all cores against the wall

now it says 99.99% tpf 9 hours

I think I am going to roll back to the old client

I remember tear convincing me to go back to 6.34 on Linux since 7.x sucked. I guess you need 7.x in order to handle GPU folding, but I'd stay away from 7.x on everything else.

ugh, really not liking 7.3.6

where is my "pause when done" button?

I was going to say maybe since it was a fresh install it might be a power savings thing going on. I hate how Windows auto defaults to some really funky settings. Other than that I'd say you're probably on the right path. Delete the WU, Uninstall, Reinstall 6.x and see if that changes things.

I had similar problems but with my GPU a year back and only realized that it was because they were forcing me to upgrade to the 7.x.x client. A month of scratching my head for something so stupid.

Just a point, if you want to run core 17 units you must install v7. AFAIK it will not work with v6 clients
