PPD on 820 w / smp client?

PPD on 820 w / smp client????? I'm thinking of getting the PD 820 deal at Fry's, and was wondering the PPD with the Smp client and with running win2000.
 
Uh, you need to run Linux to run the SMP client... I say you should get about 600PPD off of it (tops), I may be wrong?
 
I am gonna format my 830 soon. How quickly do you need the results?
 
The 820 doesn't have Virtualization. You will have to run Linux natively. Running Windows 2000 with VMWare won't work. And Windows 2000 won't work with Virtualization either, right?
 
Yes. That is why I am reformating right now. Stuck on loading basic drivers though?
 
I'll be watching this thread. I just picked up an 820 and I'm wondering if it is worth it to load linux on it or not.

You can ask the OS forum, Linux/Unix subforum, this really isn't the place. They'll take pretty good care of you.
 
BOOM! 3 posts! First frame completed in 14 minutes. This is on the 3025 protien. >500 PPD on Suse 10.2 and a P-D 830 with a GB of RAM.

14 flat would actually be 603.768 PPD...but who's counting? ;)
 
It's at 67% now. looks to have settled down to about 12 min per frame. Keeps getting better. Any reason why EM3 can't monitor this?
