Hi does anyone know where you would get hold of their stuff in the UK? I tried searching but I can find little info.
thanks

I'd pass on the PCP&rip off. Try the Silverstone Olympia, if you really need that much power. If not, try something a bit smaller.

depends in what your definition of a ripoff is....

I have had great results with all 3 of my PC Power & Cooling PSU`s...... 2 - turbo cool 510`s and 1 -- 1k and I am fixing to get the newest 1K as a gift for a friend of mine....

What some people consider a rip off others absolutely Love the PC power & Cooling brand!

Of course if you can`t afford one or if you have never used the product then I see no basis other than personal opinion based on nothing more than mere conjecture to say or claim that PC power & Cooling PSU`s are a ripoff is just bogus!

Show me anywhere where they have mislead or have not backed up there product 100%.....show me where there rated specs are not what they claim them to be...

Just as I thought..you can`t!!

They have fantastic customer support and are expensive but hey...you can hardly call something a ripoff because of the price....

But you could say they are expensive.......

I am definatly not doubting their wattage claims or quality. They make a damn nice power supply. What I Don't like, is their marketing FUD, their overpricing, etc. Where do they mislead you? here. Right on their official page. Some of their points are valid, but others? Feh.
Multiple fans aren't as good, according to them? Don't forget that multiple fans means, less of a dead spot, lower rpm, and more silent.
Modular plugs? Unless you're plugging them into your dog, your golf clubs, this is a non issue. You don't lose much, if any, current through these. That, and they certify the modular PCP&C 510 modded by performance PCS.
SLI Certified PSU's? Remember that the Silverstone they tested, needs a decent load on the +3.3/5, and proper rail distribution, to truely shine. I'm guessing they sabotaged it simply so they look good.
120mm fan? what if, the components do not have to be so big? There are PLENTY of VERY good power supplies, with 120mm fans. That, and I've NEVER seen a 120x38 in a psu.
Multiple rails? see for yourself

I'm not doubting PCP&C as a good company. Simply, there are options that perform at least as good, if not better, for FAR, FAR less. You don't have to sell a kidney just to buy a pcp&c.

We can adress your issues 1 at a time....
First the multiple fans issue......your points could be valid but for the sake of duscussion if what you claim is true then why are not the PSU manufacturers jumping on the multiple fan bandwagon?
I don`t see Zippy using multiple fans........Seasonic and the list goes on. IMO if a PSU is designed properly there is really no need for multiple fans. but thats just my opinion!

The modular cable issue....
We both know that at one time it was truly an issue. Yet as we speak its probably not an issue anymore. yet it can become an issue if people are constantly fiddling with the connectors and there really is some loss of current...but as JonnyGURU saus its not even enough to make a difference at all!

Then the multiple rail issue.,..again thats apples and oranges.....I for one prefer a single rail......other prefer to have multipl rails...I have read what you would call FUD...when what they are saying does make alot of sense and is actually a very good reason for using a single 12v rail......yet again...apples and oranges IMO.....

Yet what it apparently really comes down to us price....
thats what you said---
You don't have to sell a kidney just to buy a pcp&c
again nobody is forcing you to buy a PC Power & Cooling PSU...yet at the same time your reasons for NOT liking something you have never used or had any personnal contact with bemuses me.......

But let me say PSU`s are like anything else a very prsonnal thing and I believe that if you are happy with what you are using be ut an Antec..or an OKIA that is all that counts yet I`m not going to go around saying things about whatever brand you use just because IMO I might dislike the company!!
yet you call what PC Power & Cooling says to be FUD...yet you are spreading your own FUD...lol

Merry Christmas!!

Zippy has been using multiple fans for years. On their current line up the 850w has a 40mm fan and an 80mm.

........Seasonic and the list goes on.

Seasonic has an additional 60mm fan on the M12 series to complement the 120mm.

One of the most effective ways to cool a PSU is 2 80mm's in push/pull but ti is loud. Good design quite often dictates multiple fans.....you can do it with one but it isn't the only or neccesarily best way to skin a cat.

Yes...but again....apples and oranges.....
If multiple fans were really all that advantageous you would see companies again like seasinoc and Zoppy ...etc...go entirely to mutiple fans.

Yet your point is well taken and noted!! :)

There is no apples and oranges you were simply incorrect. Using two fans is the ideal solution in many PSU toplogies, in others one fan can achieve the cooling needed.
