Whats the powershot G10 like? I heard its like an SLR, just in P&S form. Would it be worth the $579 CAN?

I don't really want an actual DSLR because I need something that'll fit in my pocket and bag without needing extra lenses.
 
I think it is a awesome camera. Complements a DSLR perfectly. Also the Canon PowerShot SX1 IS is a pretty good camera too...
 
Its a great camera. The only thing I did not like was the redesigned dials. The wider angle lens was a good upgrade. Image quality was good, focus was fast and reliable. I only got to use it for a couple hours but I did enjoy it.
 
You should look for a used A650 IS. It's smaller and it actually has the exact same sensor and glass as the G9.
