Hi,

I have been recently experiencing performance decrease using nicehash mining Zcash and Ethereum.
The utilities that are usually being called by Nicehash are the Zecminer64.exe and the other i forgot the name of it now, but it is not SGMiner.

The rates were pretty good 290 Hashes/s for Zcash and then 24 MH/s for Ether.
I have not overclocked , and i do have a room fan blowing towards the card.
I have occasionally felt like maybe the hardware is getting tired so i would reboot windows.
I noticed that a certain driver version was recommended 16.11.2 or something.... cant remember now.
I cant find the proper one because it says beta or something silly , so i need somebody to please source this for me.
I cant stand the AMD site it is really horrible compared to nVidia.
Not sure what Relive or Non Relive is and also if it is important to have WHQL or not.

My issue here is that for some reason my mining performance decreased like from 290 hashes/s to like 260 hashes/s for Zcash. For Ethereum it has decreased from 24 MH/s to 21 MH/s.

I also noticed that my pay rate i.e. USD/Day has come down a lot. So like at times i used to get about 1.80 dollars or even 1.90 dollars where as now i only get about 1.49 to maybe if i am lucky 1.60 dollars.

I dont understand why... this has hapened, why it is so slow now (the mining speed it makes no sense?) and also the pay rate?

Is my graphics card broken or maybe hurt or something?


Help appreciated and also pointing me towards the correct driver i should use, please.

I use the latest AMD driver. My mining speed is as good as expected. I run claymore miner. Ive never used nicehash. I have 8 cards mining, and I have one card that will sometimes drop in hash rate a bit. But they are all modded and overclocked so im blaming that.

I dont get it, what do you mean you are blaming that? what is there to blame man?
Anyways how the hell did you manage to get so many cards and i mean that must cost a lot of money right?
Flip it must be cool to be well off.
Do you think i am wasting my time mining with 1 card ? I want to get another card now and very close to buying it, but i just hope it is worth while.
Nicehash is basically calling the Claymore miner... not sure if the different versions of Claymore make a difference in speed?
Looks like my windows had a funny so i just did an uninstall 1 times but also run ccleaner and super anti spyware and junk removal tool then i re-installed any random version.
I think i chose 16.12.3 now. 16.12.2 like everybody mentions seemed to have 3 different versions out , like a hotfix and a beta and a non beta.
I was like this is bull and too much effort to find out which one actually works. Sometimes people are not too specific also with their links which is irritating for me too.
So yeh you reckon for you Claymore does the job BUT you also overclock? not sure if i can do it also.
 
I wouldn't say im well off...I just play my cards right. (pun intended). For example all winter long I heated an shed outside my house with a AMD 295x2 that I got off ebay for $400 about. So after a few months of mining I sell it again...Its still worth about $400 so I keep the coins and pretty much lose nothing in equipment costs. (electricity is free for me). So basically I wait for a really good deal on a used graphic card, buy it, mine it, sell it. Certain graphics card can hold their value for a long time.
 
Yeh free electricity is great.
I was wondering , is it stupid or silly for me to buy a GTX 750 ti , R9 nnn, GTX 1050 card , or is it just better that i rather buy an RX470 still ?
 
the RX470 is the best choice for mining. It has the best mining speed for the price. The 1050 is pretty bad choice for mining I think...but maybe its ok for ZCash mining. The 750ti is not good for mining either. AMD beats Nvidia when it comes to mining.

No....I dont have much of an online presence....I just browse forums like forum.ethereum.org/categories/mining and copy whatever other users have tried.
