Powerbook and Gateway XHD3000

I am trying to run an XHD3000 off of a powerbook at optimum resolution (2560x1600) and when i set the resolution to that, the monitor just flashes the image on the screen. It will run 2048x1536, 1900x1200, and 1900x1600 just fine. As well as several other lower resolutions. It is running via dual link dvi.

Any ideas?

It looks like a dual link dvi female connector. The powerbook is a 15" with the upgraded ATI Radeon 9700, 128mb.

Correct me if im wrong, but since it does run 2048x1536 correctly (which i believe requires dual link not single link) then the native resolution of 2560x1600 should work.

still no resolve, the engineering dept says they are finding a solution..we will see...
