Hey, so last night i went to turn on a light and the light blew out and tripped two circuit breakers. My computer shut off also and i thought nothing of it until i tried to turn on my computer today and nothing happened. I don't see the light on the motherboard come on when it's plugged in and nothing happens when i push the power button either. The light that blew out was on the same power strip as my computer when this all happened. IF something is fried on my computer, would my best bet be to get another PSU or am i going to have to bring it somewhere to find out what exactly is fried? Also, would just leaving it unplugged and off for a while fix it? Thanks

The first thing to do is to test the power outlet you are using. We weill asssume you have done that.

Your PSU likely blew it's main fuse. What I usually recommend is to head out to a local retailer and buy a good quality name brand PSU with plenty of wattage for your system. This is a good time to upgrade a bit. Swap the PSU (qiuckly hook it up without mounting it in the case) and see if your system works. If that doesn't fix it, just return the PSU.

Chances are that will take care of it. You might look into a better surge protector as well.
