I was thinking about getting 750 Watt power supply unit from Dell. They are selling the part for $121.

Would I need 1 kilo watt for gaming & video conference/editing?

Im trying to build a very good PC that would last me awhile.

1.) more than likely even the 750 watt is overkill, let alone 1kw.

2.) we need more specifics about what you want in order to recommend an appropriate psu.

well i have 7950 gx2 graphic card
500gb hd
2x 150 gb hd

soundblaster xtreme music card

2gb patriot ram

i thought about a8n32 motherboard
750 watt psu from dell or OCZ 700 watt
& ninja heatsink

any thoughts??

If you don't have a Dell, forget Dell.

Corsair HX 520W/620W

OCZ GXS 600W/700W

PC P&C 610W/750W

Silverstone Zeus 560W/750W

That is a good start. ;)

Cosairs are nice PSUs acording to jonnyGuru and they are Seasonic built as well :D

A nice Thermaltake per say 750 would also be a nice addition, maybe a bit overkill, but maybe a future proof as well ;)

Can anyone tell me if this model of toughware is a good PSU?

NEW Thermaltake ToughPower 750w P/N W0117 Power Supply

That's the same unit the last four posts is talking about.

It's a very nice psu, if you have the $ get it, you'll like it
;)

If you're spending that kind of money, get the SeaSonic M12 700W. It's $189 at Fry's.

I don't really need 700W but they don't have the 500 or 600W version at Fry's, and getting it online would only save me about $30 for one of the lower watt versions, so I'm seriously considering just splurging. It's overkill, but I guess it'll be nice to never have to worry about whether my power supply is good enough. It's also a 5+ year investment, so I'm willing to spend a little more.

Being the Thermaltake rep in this forum has got to be rough.

That being said, Thermaltake Guy, a lot of people have been wondering if all of the ToughPower PSU's are built to the same specs as the 750W model? (Meaning no Fuhjyyu caps, etc.)

Not knowing this has kept quite a few people that can't quite swing the 750W from buying from Tt at all, myself included.

He's already said that they are all the same, with only the output capability being different.
