power supply reqs for 3870

I am wondering what exactly are power supply reqs. for the card? I have 3 power supplies, only 1 work and that one has 1 12v+ rail at 28amps with 500watts. The other ones are 630watts with combined total of 33amps, and a 750watt combined total of 60amps for the 12v+ rails. I can't understand wtf is wrong with them..... The 630,and 750watts worked fine on othermother boards but when I switched to my current one the Asus P5N-E sli board the 3870 and my old x1800gto stoped working. But when I switch out power supplies to the 500watt it works perfectly... WTF?:mad: Can you guys help me?

Corsair twinx PC6400C5DHX
Ati HD 3870
2x 160gb IDE hard drives
2x IDE DVD burners
 
Looking at what specs you posted all three power supplies should be adequate to power the 3870 since it only requires 15A on the 12V line.

However, you didn't post the make and models of your power supplies, so one cannot be sure as to the validity of the claimed maximum power that can be supplied. For example, I trust the figures that Seasonic and PC Power and Cooling put on their power supplies and testing from multiple websites include HardOCP have verified that. However "off" brands sometimes are a bit "liberal" with their ratings... in other words they lie.
