I have a 2400+ running off a 300 watt power supply and I believe this is a little low, however the power supply is very good and I only have a cd drive and one hard drive hooked to it. I am trying to put together my second computer which has a 1700+ cpu in it. Anyways I would want to upgrade my PS for the 2400+ just so I know that I am not starving it of power so what does someone recommendation for it that I can buy from newegg since I am buying a case for the old computer as well? Also what ram should I buy from newegg (what brand) preferably 512mb 1 stick ddr that is good? I have crucial and I love it because they have never given me any problems, but is Kingston or others on par with them for the lower price?

this is a regular 2400 athlon XP correct?

Are you planning on overclocking? and you're on an nforce 2 mobo?

I'd suggest like everyone else to get an antec truepower 430watt.

If you got an nforce 2 mobo then get 2x256mb(assuming u want 512mb opposed to 1gb) of cas 2 pc2700 or pc3200.
dual channel memory will boost your performance.

btw corsair makes the best memory I think and has probably the best tech support and warrenty/rma process.
if a stickbreaks they'll replace it always for any reason. as long as you didn't break the chip in half with a hammer!

Hey, if you got the cash, I'd suggest PC Power and Cooling, and Mushkin ram
