ok i just got my ultra to ultra extreme with 1.5 volt... my temp on core never gets above 80c (78c) and i can run cs:s vst fine but playing in a server some times at the beginning when i join or in the middle of nowhere my comp freezes.... and i had to hardreboot.. so i am thinking i need a better power supply? or is my card a schmo in OCing? anyone have freezes because of power issues i may ask? thnx alot in advance :)

o yeah and is there a volt mod for the memory because my memory overclocks like crap.. :(

well it could be reading temps wrong, may be the card (temps), the memory having errors, or the PSU, u really cant say unless u run memtest 86 and replace the PSU.. the next step up that i would do if u get a new PSU is a 510 or 550 watt...

Well with a Antec 430 I couldn't run my cpu overclocked and my ultra oc'ed it would freeze. (450/1200 with 1.5v)

I got a OCZ 520 and now I can overclock both. And the videocard oc went even higher.

Those new OCZ's are the kings. Too bad they are so damned huge.Any probelms fitting it in? Im thinking of getting one but my space around the PSU is very limited.

P.S. Ive had system reboots due to power supply. Not freezes tho.

Have any of you guys checked out the new ultra 500w modular PSU .... Very sporty I like the windowed UV reactice cables one. Supposedly a very good powersupply ... and it is modular so no more extra cables or cable mess

hey i might get the fortron 530w? and how is thta compared to the ocz powerstream 520?

and o yeah btf.. when u overclocked ur ultra with the antec 430.. it freezes right? and now u can run it at ultra extreme speeds with the new psu? and the temps aren't wrong... it seems normal for my ultra.. and it also have a 80mm fan blowing on it with 4 other case fans :)

Before you get a new PSU, why don't you try and see if reducing the clock speed helps. If it does, I would think you had reached the limits of your card, not your power supply.

of course if i reduce the clock speed it would help.... it would take less voltage from the power supply... and besides i just looked up in some forums that some guy upgraded from a 430w antec truepower to an ocz powerstream 520 and before with the antec he overclock to 440/1.3.. and then after with the ocz he got 470/1.7... and besides my 12v rail is pretty low after i upgraded to a 6800ultra... when i had my 9800xt.. my 12v rail was at 12 constantly and now its between 11.920 and 11.980.. and sometimes even dips into the 11.850..... weird  so i guess its time for me to get a new psu..
