I have an AGP system wich i still use to play WoW only. I do not play any other game then WoW but now im running into issues. I do not know about pc's that much anymore so any help will be appreciated.

Im running a Geforce FX 5950 ultra with a Dynex 400 watt power supply and the card gets HOT and i mean HOT and then system reboots whenever it feels like it. Could the power supply be under powering the video card?

link to the PSU: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...upply&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1174091945952

I do not have any Future plans on getting a better PC since this one runs WoW perfectly fine at 1920x1080 Res, FPS are around 50 to 55.. Im sure some of you will have things to say so go for it but im here asking for help.

What Motherboard?
What CPU? Overclock? How much?
How much RAM?
How many hard drives?
How many/what optical drives?
What sound card?
Any other cards?
Overclocking the graphics card?

its an older system,

IBM thinkcentre
pentium 4 3.2 HT
320gb sata HD
DVD drive
3GB pc3200 memory

I added the video card and power supply wich was a dynex 400 watt psu and the 5950 ultra. No overlocking

Has the heat problem been an ongoing problem?
Or, did it start at some particular time?

Install a free temperature monitoring program to monitor the CPU and GPU temps.
Speedfan is one example.

How many fans are there on the case?
Is there any dust clogging the fans?

i clean it daily so its dust free. the video card has always gotten wicked hot but ive never tryed a diff power supply with it. from the reviews ive read about the PSU is that its crap and under powered right out of the box. the box states something other then what the PSU really runs at.

Right now There is one fan, including the 2 fans on PSU running. I have the side off the pc with a big fan (Very quiet) blowing onto all components.

thx and ill install the temp program right now and run wow for a little bit and see what happends.

i also did a fresh install on windows XP and i didnt have the problems before that. Legal Copy

ok i let the game run for about 5 mins and then minimized it real fast to see the temps and almost everything had a ed flame next to it

GPU: 83C
Remote 1: 52C
Ambient 35C
Remote 2: 38C
Remote 3: 56C
Local Temp: 47C
Remote temp: 61C
HD0: 32C
Temp 1: 57C

OK, that GPU temp is high.

Download prime95. http://mersenneforum.org/gimps/p95v259.zip
Run it and see which temperature goes up.
Run it for 5 minutes and print the temperatures.

I cannot say anything about your PSU since I have no experience with it. Hopefully, others will comment.

i think i may have found my problem. when looking intot he wow settings i didnt realize it was running at 4x multi sampling so i turned it down to 1. the temp went from 83ish down to 55-60. it still shows a red flame but its a good drop
